Yazbek returns to Feinstein’s/54 Below for a special, one-night-only evening with the Alexandria Ceremonial Police Orchestra from his smash-hit show The Band’s Visit. These are the world-class masters of Arabic music who appeared on and offstage in the sold-out Atlantic Theater production this winter. David and the band will be performing songs from the show, classical and popular Middle Eastern pieces and songs from Yazbek’s albums. This is your chance to hear the sounds and see the virtuosi who made The Band’s Visit the season’s impossible-to-get ticket. Ben Brantley of The New York Times described David’s new score as a “transcendent harmonic shimmer that stops the heart.” The performance will also feature The Band’s Visit stars Katrina Lenk (Dina) and Ari’el Satchel (Haled).
