54 Below

A Nonprofit Cabaret Venue

54 Below, New York’s Broadway themed supper club, is a non-profit organization with a mission to preserve and expand the art of the cabaret. We are committed to supporting diverse communities of emerging and established artists and to expanding their audiences.

A recipient of the 2022 TONY AWARDS® Honor for Excellence in the Theatre, 54 Below is affectionately known as “Broadway’s Living Room,” a home away from home for Broadway professionals and audiences alike. The club combines performances by Broadway’s best with world class dining in an elegant setting. With pre-theatre dinner offered nightly from 5:30pm, it has set a new culinary standard for New York City entertainment venues.

We honor the cabaret tradition and the music and community of Broadway by pursuing excellence in content, performance, hospitality, and cuisine to give audiences an unparalleled experience.

The club opened in June 2012 under the leadership of multiple Tony Award-winning producers Tom Viertel, Marc Routh, Richard Frankel and Steve Baruch (The Producers, Hairspray, Angels in America), who brought together Broadway’s and New York’s most creative artists and designers as well as top food and hospitality professionals to launch and oversee this only-in-Manhattan, matchless nightspot. Designed by Tony Award winners John Lee Beatty (restaurant design), Ken Billington (lighting), Peter Hylenski (sound), and architect Richard Lewis, 54 Below’s creative team is led by Creative and Programming Director Jennifer Ashley Tepper while the restaurant is led by Executive Chef James Klapak and General Manager Mandisa Boxill.

54 Below features up to three shows nightly. Accommodating 140 people in the main dining room and bar, with all tables no more than 24 feet from the stage, the facilities include the capability to broadcast and record audio and video.

In April of 2023, 54 Below’s executive team made the bold decision to transition to a nonprofit cabaret venue to better serve its community of artists and to ensure this beloved institution’s longevity.

Wheelchair patrons can access 54 Below by using the elevator in the building adjacent to the Club. Please ring the doorbell and someone will assist you with access to the elevator. An ADA restroom is available.

Guests of 54 Below are encouraged to wear smart casual attire.

We ask that guests do not hang their coats on the back of their chairs and instead utilize our complimentary coat check facilities. Guests are discouraged from bringing large personal items or bags with them to the club.

Seating is assigned by the Maitre’d based on the size of parties attending that evening’s performance.  Although there is no advance assigned seating, rest assured that you will have a terrific view – no seat is further than 24 feet from the stage.

Our venue has cabaret seating, which means that you and your party may be sharing a table with other guests. Seating is assigned on the night of the show by our Maitre d’. We will accommodate specific requests when possible, but no particular seating is guaranteed. If you would like to request sitting with another guest who has made a separate reservation, please call 54 Below at 646-476-3551 so we can accommodate you.

Bar seats are on comfortable padded stools with backs at the bar. Bar Rail seats are located at the edge of the bar area, looking into the dining room towards the stage. (The railing has a built-in table for dining.) Side View seats are located in the main dining room, on either side of the rear portion of the stage. For certain shows, these seats will have partially obstructed views. Full food and beverage service is provided at all locations.

Please arrive at the reservation time specified on your order when you purchased your tickets. A separate dinner reservation is not needed if you have purchased a ticket to one of our shows.

Student Rush tickets are based on availability. The Student Rush price is $30 for 7:00pm performances and $20 for 9:30pm performances. There are no service fees applied to Student Rush tickets. Available at the box office 30 minutes prior to show time. There is a limit of 2 tickets per valid college or high school ID, which must be presented upon purchase, and tickets are sold on a first come, first serve basis. The food and beverage minimum still applies.

There is a 10% service fee plus a $1.50 facility fee for all tickets. These charges will be placed on all online and phone transactions. However, our Patron Program members have the 10% service fees waived on their tickets orders.

54 Below is a sophisticated nightclub that can be enjoyed by any appropriately mature young person.

Latecomers will be seated at the discretion of management.

Recording parts of the show on your phone for personal purposes including posting on social media is a fact of modern life but is, none the less, distracting to your fellow audience members. Out of courtesy, we ask that all guests restrict video recordings of our shows to short clips only. Recording a full concert is not permitted. 54 Below reserves the right to ask guests to stop recording at any time for any reason and guests not cooperating with this policy may be asked to leave.
