Adrienne Angel
Adrienne Angel received her musical education at North Carolina’s High Point University and at the Juilliard School in New York City. While still studying acting, voice and dance, she became a model and TV spokeswoman. This developed into a successful career in musical theatre, television, industrial shows, commercials, cabaret, jingle singing and voice-overs. Her Broadway credits include: Bells are Ringing, revival of the Ziegfeld Follies, First Impressions, High Spirits, Promises, Promises. Also national tours of Show Boat, and the Sandy Duncan production of Peter Pan.
Though not interested in becoming a voice teacher, it was her own teacher who insisted she start passing on the practical vocal knowledge she had gained from her broad range of experience. Thus, while pursuing her own singing career, she found that her biggest talent lay in helping others find their own voices.
As a voice teacher and musical theater specialist, among Adrienne’s past and present students are: Bernadette Peters (since 1983), Cher, Ann Reinking, Mary Tyler Moore, Christine Baranski, Kenneth Branagh, Armand Assante, Whoopi Goldberg, Jane Krakowski, Cybill Shepherd, Jason Alexander, Joel Gray, Swoosie Kurtz, Joan Jett, Sheena Easton, Bridget Fonda, and Jessica Walter.
She has served on the Board of Directors of the New York Singing Teachers’ Association (NYSTA), the oldest organization of singing teachers in the US, and is a member of The National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS). In addition, for fifteen summers she served on the faculty of The Broadway Theatre Project.
She teaches privately and presents master classes on vocal technique in America, Japan, and Australia. She belongs to the performing unions Actors Equity, SAG, AFTRA, and AGVA.
