Gabriel McDerment
Gabriel McDerment is a 21-year-old musician and composer affiliated with four international music associations (ASCAP, ACF, SEAMUS, CEC). Notable composition credits include Acceptance Pending (US Tour, Edinburgh Fringe), Harvard Art Museum, Harvard Chan C-CHANGE, SUPERBANDS, Thereminfest (St. Petersburg, Russia), and IUPUI’s Tavel Arts and Technology Research Center. He has been recognized by the National Endowment for the Arts, the American Theatre Wing, and other artistic organizations. His works have been featured in six countries. On the administrative side, Gabriel is the president of Light Brigade Productions, which he founded in 2020. He plays 11 instruments, his favorite of which are piano, cello, and Celtic banjo. He is currently designing a major in Binaural Psychophysics and Sonic Ethnography at NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study, hoping to develop a career using music to fight mental health issues in clinical settings.
