A Nonprofit Cabaret Venue

A bald man with a trimmed beard is wearing a white dress shirt, a patterned vest, and a red suit jacket with a pocket square. He is standing indoors in front of a stringed musical instrument, likely a grand piano. The lighting is warm and soft.

Grammy-winning Baritone and New Jersey-native John Brancy is a master of the voice, The Financial Times called him “remarkable,” The Telegraph “powerful,” and The New York Times noted him as a baritone with “impressive skill — seamless passaggio between the richly resonant depths of his range and a weightless, dreamy falsetto.” This powerhouse graduate of New York’s famed Juilliard School expertly performs across operatic and musical theater styles. He’s a virtuoso of staged opera, concert performance, recital and theater. Already in his early career, Brancy has staked a claim as one of the legendary voices of his generation, performing almost yearly at Carnegie Hall; giving multiple sold out solo recitals at Alice Tully Hall and the Kennedy Center with collaborator Peter Dugan; debuted with MasterVoices at Jazz at Lincoln Center under Ted Sperling, and made his Café Carlyle debut with Peter.

Brancy has also recently brought to life a world premiere work by Sir George Benjamin and Martin Crimp for Festival AIX that has toured globally called Picture A Day Like This on stage, Brancy is unique and prolific, with extensive performances of classical and contemporary roles spanning a decade in a vast resume of opera houses that includes the Royal Opera in London, Opera Comique in Paris, the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, as well as the San Francisco Opera, Opera de Montreal, and San Diego Opera. His solo and concert recitals have taken him across the New York metro area and around the world, with performances at Royal Concertgebouw, Wigmore Hall, Boston Symphony, San Francisco Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and recently Cafe Carlyle. Here at home in NYC, he is known as the official singer at Madison Square Garden for the NY Rangers NHL Hockey home games.
