John Webber
John Webber is an acclaimed American jazz bassist and a longtime presence on the New York jazz scene. Born in St. Louis and raised in the Chicago area, he moved to New York in 1987 and has performed and recorded with many leading figures in jazz, including Diana Krall, Johnny Griffin, George Coleman, Jimmy Cobb, Lou Donaldson, Harold Mabern, Horace Silver, Milt Jackson and Eric Alexander. A founding member of the renowned One for All ensemble, Webber is known for his deep swing, powerful time and melodic, understated approach. With numerous recordings and decades of experience in the tradition of straight-ahead jazz, Webber brings exceptional depth, warmth and musicality to every performance.
