Kerry Ellis is widely recognised as one of the leading ladies of West End and Broadway musicals, with an extraordinary career spanning London, New York, and stages across the globe. She has achieved chart-topping success as a recording artist, signed to both Decca Records and Sony Music, and continues to be one of the UK’s most sought-after performers in both theatre and concert.

Kerry originated the role of Meat in Queen’s We Will Rock You and went on to become the first British Elphaba in the worldwide phenomenon Wicked, earning the 2008 WhatsOnStage Award for Best Takeover in a Role. She later reprised the role on Broadway at the Gershwin Theatre, where she won the Broadway.com Audience Award for Favourite Female Breakthrough Performance, before returning to London. Her other leading West End credits include Grizabella in Cats, Nancy in Oliver!, Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady, Ellen in Miss Saigon, Fantine in Les Misérables, Sara in Murder Ballad, and Alice in Wonderland.

Her recent and international work continues to expand her global profile. Kerry has performed sold-out solo concerts in Beijing and Shanghai and completed an extensive Asia tour with Alfie Boe. She appeared in concert at Theatre Royal Drury Lane for the world premiere of Little Women in concert, and performed a special duet with Lang Lang for the launch of the new Disney World in Abu Dhabi. She also recorded the album for Lady M The Musical and completed a successful theatrical run in Shanghai.

In 2022, Kerry starred as Reno Sweeney in Anything Goes at the Barbican to widespread critical acclaim, toured arenas across the UK with Queen Machine, and headlined a major televised concert in Japan on the country’s largest network. She continues her long-standing collaboration with Brian May, with whom she has toured extensively across the UK and Europe. Their album Golden Days received widespread praise, and they continue to perform and record together.

Kerry performs in concert venues around the world and has enjoyed ongoing success beyond the stage. She has released four seasons of her popular podcast Keep Calm and Kerry On, as well as her autobiography From Bumpkin to Broadway. Her album of original material, Kings and Queens, was released in 2023 to critical acclaim, celebrated with a launch concert at London’s Adelphi Theatre.

Further recent credits include playing Titania in her first Shakespeare production, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, followed by a 60-date UK tour promoting her book Queen of the West End. She then starred as Cruella in the musical adaptation of 101 Dalmatians and went on to lead the cast of If/Then at the Savoy Theatre.
