Viani Edwards
Viani Edwards is a writer, director, and founder of The VNE Writers’ Co, a creative collective for performers, producers, and writers working across stage and screen whose work challenges convention. Her storytelling blends psychological insight, spiritual inquiry, and bold emotional honesty, centering on under-explored yet deeply resonant voices. As a cultural strategist, she has paneled at Performing The World and led discussions at NYU on youth development and economic marginalization. Her career includes collaborations with artists and creators across industries—some under confidentiality—all of which have shaped her practice. She values most the relationships formed along the way, including the mentorship of legendary producer Woodie King Jr. at the New Federal Theatre. Viani believes that the most luminous work is born in the dark. The VNE Writers’ Co was born from this belief that the best stories emerge from dirt.
