A Celebration of the Songs of Marilyn and Alan Bergman: Keep The Music Playing! Feat. Melissa Errico, Billy Stritch, & More!
February 2, 2022
They literally wrote the soundtrack of our lives for half a century. This extraordinary lyric-writing couple worked with composers like Michel LeGrand, Quincy Jones, and Marvin Hamlisch to craft the popular songs sung by the likes of Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, and Ray Charles. They were nominated for SIXTEEN Academy Awards (winning three), not to mention winning Golden Globes, Emmys, and Grammy Awards. Among their countless hits are “The Way We Were,” “How Do You Keep the Music Playing,” “Windmills of Your Mind,” “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers,” “Fifty Percent,” “What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life?” And many, many more!
It is with pride that Feinstein’s/54 Below celebrates the Bergmans in this special concert event created for the club by NYC impresario Scott Siegel. The show will highlight the full breadth of Marilyn & Alan Bergman’s talents that led them to write for the movies, television (the theme songs for “Maude” and “Good Times”), and theater (Ballroom). An all-star cast of Broadway and nightclub stars will perform their timeless hits, and Scott Siegel will provide an insightful narration of their indelible contribution to popular culture.
Scott Siegel is the author of 48 books and the creator of more than 400 major concerts all over the world. He has produced, written, and directed for Michael Feinstein, but he is, perhaps, best known as the creator, writer, director, and host of Town Hall’s signature series, Broadway by the Year, which will begin its 21st season later in 2022. Scott has created more than 500 different concerts for Feinstein’s/54 Below, including two long-running hits series, 54 Sings Broadway’s Greatest Hits! and Frank Sinatra: The Second Century.
