54 Below

A Nonprofit Cabaret Venue

At 18 years old, Amy Oestreicher had her life all figured out: go to college, star on Broadway, and conquer the world. When a blood clot literally caused her stomach to explode, Amy’s life took some unexpected “detours.”

Following sold-out runs at theatres nationwide and headlining international conferences, award-winning actress and playwright Amy Oestreicher will make her Feinstein’s/54 Below debut with her hit one-woman musical, as seen on NBC’s Today, CBS, Huffington Post, Seventeen, Cosmopolitan, TEDx, and more.  Gutless and Grateful: A Musical Feast, is  a comedic journey of hope, resilience and gratitude. Featuring original music by Oestreicher herself, a song written especially for Amy by Kathie Lee Gifford and David Friedman, and composers including Sondheim, Cy Coleman, Ricky Ian Gordon, and others, Amy’s story shows that you never know what you’re capable of until you’re tested, and that the gifts of a “detour” can be beautifully rewarding.

Come for an evening of inspiring story-telling and song as she shares the disappointments, the triumphs, and the humor – the challenges, the battles, and ultimately the gifts of what Amy received from this experience. It is a story of hope, determination, perseverance, and a way to share her gratitude and strength with the world. Amy Oestreicher shares the powerful message that it’s possible to overcome physical and mental health obstacles through interwoven song and dialogue in a primal piece of live storytelling. Through the ups and downs, Amy’s fight proves that you never know what you are capable of until you are asked to the challenge and the human spirit can prevail over any odds.
