“This very pretty Texas import is tall, blonde and full of rare talent…she’s vital, she’s intelligent, with a penchant for comedy and a great soprano belt…a true flair for comic timing… -John Hoaglund, New York Native

Anna Lively, star of jazz clubs, cabaret rooms and honky tonks, makes her solo debut at Feinstein’s/54 Below in Isn’t It a Lively Day: Anna Lively Celebrates the Music and Career of the One and Only Doris Day!  This show takes you on a joyous adventure through Doris’ biggest hits, from her wonderful movies to her over 1100 recordings.  Featuring songs from Calamity Jane, Romance on the High Seas, The Pajama Game, Love Me or Leave Me, Pillow Talk and more!  Anna, who has a tremendous feel and passion for this music, brings Doris’ fascinating story to life, with all its twists and turns, near misses, triumphs and tragedies. You’ll leave not only humming the tunes, but amazed at the things you never knew about Doris Day!

A portion of profits go to help Anjellicle Cats and Adore-a-Bullie Paws and Claws animal rescues here in NYC — ’cause that’s how Doris would want it! There will be a volunteer in the show room to take donations of Money, Food, Towels, Toys, etc., which would be greatly appreciated by these rescue groups.

Christopher Denney, celebrated cabaret pianist for Karen Mason and the late Julie Wilson, will be accompanying Anna on the piano. Denny has served as musical director, arranger and pianist for such theater, cabaret and opera luminaries as Karen Mason, Julie Wilson, Brent Barrett, Gregg Edelman, David Campbell, Tammy Grimes, Rod Gilfry, David Burnham, Ron Raines, Andrea Marcovicci, Lauren Bacall, Dorothy Loudon, Kaye Ballard, Jeff Harnar and Steven Brinberg, earning, in the process, two Back Stage Bistro Awards and four Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs Awards for Outstanding Musical Direction. His thirty-year career has taken him to virtually all of the major venues in New York and throughout the U.S., notably including Carnegie Hall, where he performed his own arrangements with Skitch Henderson and the New York Pops, as well as to Barcelona’s Gran Teatre del Liceu, Australia, Italy, Switzerland, Mexico, Paris and London’s West End. Film work includes having produced Placido Domingo’s recording sessions for Baz Luhrmann’s Oscar-winning musical film, Moulin Rouge.
