JDR Vocal Studios Presents: Songs I’ll Never Sing, Roles I’ll Never Play
March 2, 2027
What if the song you have always wanted to sing was the one you were never supposed to? Songs I’ll Never Sing, Roles I’ll Never Play is a joyful, funny, and heartfelt musical theatre concert built around one simple idea: sometimes the most exciting song to sing is the one that was never written for you.
In this concert, performers will step into songs, characters, and musical worlds they might never traditionally be cast in and finally get the chance to let it out, exploring the expectations we place on performers. Some choices will be completely ridiculous. Some will be surprising. Some will be wildly unexpected. And some may reveal something beautiful about a song we thought we already knew.
At its heart, Songs I’ll Never Sing, Roles I’ll Never Play is about permission.
Permission to be the wrong type.
Permission to be the wrong gender.
Permission to be the wrong age.
And permission to discover that sometimes the song belongs to whoever has something to say through it.
Presented by Justin D Reamy of JDR Vocal Studio, this concert is a celebration of musical theatre, the performers who love it, and all of the songs we have secretly wanted to sing from the moment we heard them.
Please note that all artists and acts are subject to change at any time.
