Award-winning entertainer Jeff Harnar returns to 54 Below to debut The McGuire Sisters & Me. In this new show, the talented vocalists reflects in stories and songs of his years as houseboy to Phyllis McGuire, then as the opening act during the McGuire Sisters’s reunion tour, as well as their enduring friendship.
The McGuire Sisters were America’s Sweethearts in the 1950’s, with 12 top ten Billboard Hits, 6 gold records, and renown for television and Las Vegas appearances. Phyllis McGuire, the lead singer was also infamous for her affair with mafia kingpin Sam Giancana.
Highlighted will be McGuire Sisters’s hits such as “Sincerely,” “Sugartime,” and “Goodnight Sweetheart” and Broadway songs by Jerry Herman, Charles Strouse and Yip Harburg. Audiences will also hear surprises by Jon Hendricks, Charles Aznavour, and Stephen Schwartz, among many others, along with Harnar’s “What the Butler Saw” stories about Phyllis, the Sisters, showbiz and the mob.
