Back by popular demand after her sold-out solo debut, Emmy Award winner Jennifer Bassey returns to 54 Below to take audiences on a musical journey From Sexy Soaps to Classy Cabaret. Known to legions of soap opera fans around the world as Marian Colby, daytime TV’s first alcoholic-nymphomaniac-cougar, on ABC’s “All My Children,” a role she played for thirty years, Jennifer has done it all. She’ll shares memories of her sometimes heartbreaking, often hysterical, and frequently scandalous life, on and off stage; from her humble beginnings as the first singing Playboy Bunny, to her starring roles on Broadway, TV, and films in this autobiographical romp featuring standards from Broadway and the Great American Songbook.

Jennifer Bassey’s numerous honors include an Emmy Award for the streaming series “Anacostia,” a 2024 Independent Series Award (ISA Award) for the Amazon series “Kombucha Cure,” and two Soap Opera Digest Awards for “All My Children:” as Best Scene Stealer and with David Canary as Most Favorite Couple.
After graduating with honors from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London (RADA), alongside Sir Anthony Hopkins, she began her acting career using her birth name Joan Bassie, starring on Broadway in Noël Coward’s Tonight at 8:30, The Imaginary Invalid, the original Royal Shakespeare Company Production of Harold Pinter’s The Homecoming, Joe Orton’s Loot, Not Now Darling, opposite Norman Wisdom, directed by the legendary George Abbott, The Jockey Club Stakes directed by Cyril Richard, In Praise of Love opposite Rex Harrison, and Neil Simon’s California Suite. Off-Broadway, she has starred as Katherine in The Taming of the Shrew at Roundabout, as well as in Wendy Wasserstein’s Isn’t It Romantic?. Regionally, she’s appeared as Lady Macbeth in Macbeth at The Stratford Theatre and starred in Love Letters with Ken Kercheval. She was an early member of Chicago’s The Second City.
