Feinstein’s/54 Below presents Every Little Step star and multiple Helen Hayes Award winner Natascia Diaz in her New York City solo debut, following her acclaimed and nominated performance as Anita in Signature Theatre’s sold out run of West Side Story in Washington, DC. Called a “magnetic performer” by The New York Times, “riveting” by The Washington Post, “a standout….a remarkable performer” (Michael Reidel of the New York Post), with a “powerful, crystalline voice” (The Daily News), Ms. Diaz brings her trademark versatility in a varied and style bending acoustic set mixing of some of her favorite alternative, country, original, and theatre song selections accompanied by Steven Walker on guitar.

Ms. Diaz is a multiple award winning performer, best known for her feature in the documentary film Every Little Step. Winning her first Helen Hayes Award in a tie with the legendary Chita Rivera, and her second in 2013 for her critically acclaimed turn in Jacques Brel Is Alive And Well And Living In Paris, she also holds a Chicago Jeff Award, and a St. Louis Kevin Klein Award for her “mesmerizing” (Peter Marks, Washington Post) turn as Anita in West Side Story. She is featured in recordings of Sondheim’s Saturday Night, Man of La Mancha, Seussical, and the recording of the 2006 Off-Broadway hit revival of Jacques Brel.
Natascia will feature on guitar actor/songwriter Michael Pemberton, who’s songs she fell in love with while doing Saturday Night together at Second Stage, moving on to perform subsequent shows at Joe’s Pub, and The Zipper. As her special guest, Natascia will present her own sister, Katya Diaz, in what will be their first ever appearance together on stage in New York. Having become a prolific songwriter with her partner Chris Hierro, they formed the writing duo Break Out The Crazy, and the evening will feature a few of their dynamic original pop songs and lush vocals. As both a dancer and singer, Katya has shared the stage with acts including Beyoncé (featured in the “Girlz” music video) and Alejandro Sanz.
