Paula Dione Ingram makes her Feinstein’s/54 Below debut for one night only in Dark Legacy: Bright Lights of Black Broadway. Do not miss your chance to hear the music of early black composers, lyricists and performers like Scott Joplin, Bert Williams, Noble Sissle, Eubie Blake, Eddie Green and others, who laid a formidable foundation in American music written for black Broadway. Their songs such as “Nobody,” “I’m Just Wild About Harry,” “Love Will Find A Way,” and “Some of These Days” (to name a few) have become an immortal part of the Great American Songbook. Paula shares how their rich and many times dark legacy influenced composers and lyricists who have followed in their footsteps writing for the black experience for stage and film up to the present day, such as: Mercer & Arlen, Heyward & Gershwin, Russell & Willis & Bray, Eyen & Krieger, Ahrens & Flaherty, and many more. Paula’s musical background is comprised of many genres including classical, opera and musical theater. She made her London West End debut in the title role of Hammerstein’s Carmen Jones to rave reviews.
