Join us for a concert performance of Twist of Fate, the fiery musical comedy Daily Variety’s rave review had only one prediction for: “Expect standing room only.” You can expect the exotic world of a gypsy fortuneteller, and the comedy and intrigue when she fights to legalize fortunetelling in 1970’s Los Angeles. Expect multi-award winning composer/arranger Ron Abel’s electrifying flamenco and calypso pop score to infect Kleban Award-winner Lissa Levin’s sharp and involving lyrics. Expect to question, as did the pro-bono Jewish attorney in the real case on which Twist of Fate is based, whether this is about fortunetelling, or ethnic discrimination.
