Jeffrey Schmelkin is a recognized composer, an experienced pianist, and a passionate teacher and music director based in the New York City area. Jeffrey has music directed high school and college productions such as The Wizard of Oz and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. His composition “Revival” for Wind Ensemble debuted in Hawaii in early 2016. He is the composer of Furniture: The Musical, produced at the Midtown International Theatre Festival (New York City) in July of 2016. His newest musical, Untitled Time: A New Musical, was produced at Hofstra University (Hempstead, New York) as well as The Midtown International Theatre Festival (New York City) in 2017. What’s Wrong With The World? is quite a change in style from the type of work Jeffrey has produced up until now and he is beyond thrilled for its debut at Feinstein’s/54 Below.
