The 24th New York Cabaret Convention ends its week with a special afternoon event at 54 Below! The event, produced by the Mabel Mercer Foundation, begins with The New York Times’s Stephen Holden interviewing jazz legend and original female be-bop pianist Barbara Carroll. Audiences will be treated to a performance by dazzling young cabaret singer Marissa Mulder, winner of this year’s Julie Wilson Award & Noel Coward Foundation Awards, and a musical interlude from Liam Forde, a runner-up for the Noel Coward Award. Then take part in a panel discussion with some more of theatre’s most influential journalists, including William Friedwald (The Wall Street Journal), Adam Feldman (Time Out New York), David Finkle (Village Voice), and David Hajdu (The New Republic). Cabaret: Past, Present, and Future is a rare treat for the cabaret lover, featuring the spectrum of tried-and-true legends and rising stars!
