Welcome

To
54 Below

Join us at Feinstein’s/54 Below for a memorable evening featuring the songs of Divided, a new musical by Kristen Lee Rosenfeld (music) and Luanne Rosenfeld (book and lyrics), directed by Paul Stancato and sung by an all-star Broadway cast.  The stirring score of Divided tells the story of a young love and old prejudice, as young Bridget O’Neill seeks to uncover the secrets of her past. It is a sweeping saga that encompasses the Civil War and the tenuous peace that followed.  From the rousing “Clash of the Spears,” to the sweet love song, “One Chance,” the soulful “Layin’ with the Master,” and the toe-tapping “As Irish As,” the music tells the story of a nation Divided.

Following an NYC industry reading, Divided was developed as part of The PiTCH at the Finger Lakes Musical Theatre Festival, Merry-Go-Round Theatre in July 2016.  This is its first public NYC performance.

As a mother-daughter writing team, Kristen and Luanne bring a unique voice to the theatre which speaks to all generations. Kristen Lee Rosenfeld is a well-known NYC composer and music director whose work has been seen at venues such as Joe’s Pub, The Beechman; The Triad, The Metropolitan Room, and Feinstein’s/54 Below. Luanne Rosenfeld (book and lyrics) is a Seattle based playwright and lyricist (Equal Time, Cardboard Castles, Queen of Valleluna). Their musical Cardboard Castles is currently in development as a feature film by Rubic House. Paul Stancato (director) is an award-winning director/choreographer who has directed the National Tours of Jekyll and Hyde, The Lion King, and The Wedding Singer.
