Doctor Zhivago is directed by Tony Award-winning Des McAnuff (Jersey Boys), written by Academy Award nominee Michael Weller (Ragtime), composed by two-time Grammy Award winner and Tony Award nominee Lucy Simon (The Secret Garden), lyrics by Tony Award nominee Michael Korie (Grey Gardens), and Emmy Award nominee Amy Powers (Ella Enchanted), and choreography by Tony Award nominee Kelly Devine (Rocky). This honored and acclaimed team of creative visionaries led the classic story to the Broadway Theatre.

Doctor Zhivago is one of the most romantic stories ever written. Based on the Nobel Prize-winning novel by Boris Pasternak, this musical is set during the final days of Czarist Russia. It follows Yurii Zhivago, a political idealist, physician, and poet, as he is torn between his loyal wife Tonia Gromeko, and the passionate and mysterious Lara Guishar. Yurii is not alone in his yearnings for Lara, and must compete with both revolutionaries and aristocracy alike to win the heart of the woman he cannot live without. Lucy Simon’s lavish melodic score beautifully emulates the characters’ voices as they experience life, love, and a revolution.
