Princesses live a charmed life with their spell-bounding beauty, adoring princes and happily ever afters. Throughout history, this impression has fueled the fantasies of little girls, but as they grow into women, frequently devolves into twisted self-esteem, failed relationships, Facebook stalking and costly therapy bills. Is the princess path truly the way to happiness?
In The Princess Fallacy, acclaimed singing-actress Stacie Bono (Lucy in Sense & Sensibility, Fantine in Les Miserables at Tuacahn Amphitheater, Eve/Barbarella/Passionella in The Apple Tree– winner of the New Hampshire Theater Award for Best Actress in a Musical) explores the age-old princess myth through song and the retelling of her own fairy tale fantasies that will have you laughing, crying and thinking that perhaps “happily ever after” isn’t reserved just for royalty after all.
Songs include those written by Sara Bareilles, Alan Menken, Stephen Schwartz, Jeff Blumenkrantz, Stephen Sondheim, to name a few.
Musical Direction by Eugene Gwozdz, Direction by Will Nunziata
