For one night only, the original cast of Kirsten Childs’ The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin will reunite to present this singular show in concert and to share special stories about their time working on the show.

Originally presented in the National Alliance for Musical Theatre’s 1998 Festival of New Musicals, the show had its world premiere at Playwrights Horizons in May 2000.  The production garnered much critical praise, several Drama Desk nominations,  Lucille Lortel nominations and an Obie Award for Best Music & Lyrics; and won Childs’ the Kleban, the Richard Rodgers, the Gilman/Gonzalez-Falla award and The Jonathan Larson grant.

The concert will be directed by original cast member Jerry Dixon. Scheduled to appear: LaChanze, Cheryl Alexander, Natalie Venetia Belcon, Duane Boutte, Angel Desai, Darius deHaas, Jerry Dixon, Jonathan Dokuchitz, Felicia Finley, Robert Jason Jackson and Debra Walton.
