Come celebrate the music of the Marx Brothers, Groucho, Harpo, Chico, Zeppo, and Gummo, during MarxFest. This is the 100th anniversary of the brothers getting their “O” nicknames, and this event will be part of New York’s celebration. 54 Below will present the best songs from the Marx Brothers movies, stage shows, vaudeville days, and radio broadcasts. Join Bill Zeffiro (The Road to Ruin, MAC award winner), Gelber & Manning (those vaudeville lovebirds from Brooklyn), Rebekah Lowin (winner of The Callback), Tonna Miller (recently heard at the Metropolitan Opera as Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro and as the fiery Carlotta Giudicelli in Phantom of the Opera for her Broadway debut), Steve Ross and Marissa Mulder (two-time MAC award-winner, as well as winner of the Nöel Coward competition and the Julie Wilson Award at Lincoln Center). Our host is the showman Dandy Wellington. Plus special guests! Go back to the era of Wonderful Nonsense for an evening of fantastic music, laughter, and those famous Marx Brothers zingers.
