Allyson Tucker is delighted to make her 54 Below debut in Cotton Club Confidential alongside the incomparable David Jackson and David White.
Broadway credits include: Chita Rivera: The Dancer’s Life; revival of Man of La Mancha (understudied/performed the roles of Aldonza, Antonia, Housekeeper); the original revival of Follies (Young Stella); Original Broadway cast member of Ragtime (understudied/performed the role of Sarah); The Will Rogers Follies; and David Merrick’s Oh, Kay!
Some regional highlights include: The Post Roe Monologues (Chantal); Baby (Pam); Chicago (Velma; Barrymore award nominee); Dames at Sea (Joan); Blues in the Night (Woman); West Side Story (Anita). At the time of the theater shutdown, Allyson was in rehearsals for the much anticipated Encores’ production of LOVE LIFE directed by Victoria Clark.
Highlights in the “Dreams Do Come True” category include: featured performer with The Duke Ellington Big Band at Birdland; becoming the second Black Rockette (performing with Clint Holmes in Atlantic City); making her associate directing debut on American Prophet: Frederick Douglass in His Words at Arena Stage in Washington, DC under the direction of Charles Randolph Wright; assistant directing with Kenny Leon on two (hopefully) upcoming projects.
