Julia Sonya Koyfman
Julia Sonya Koyfman is an NYC-based Seattleite, librettist, screenwriter, and comedian. When she is not busy putting off making her Hello Fresh meals or applying to reality dating shows, Julia is probably writing a musical of some sort. Those musical works may or may not have been featured through the 35th Annual NAMT Festival of New Musicals (Featured Lyricist), 2023 Johnny Mercer Songwriters Project (Selected Participant), New York Theatre Barn (Upcoming), Manhattanville College (Upcoming), Project Y Theatre Company, the Seattle Opera, The New Ohio Theatre (NYCITFF Selection), and New Musicals Inc. (First prize in the 2021 NMI’s Search for New Musicals with Dusty Sanders). She is a graduate of the Musical Creators’ Institute led by Sam Carner and holds a degree in Playwriting/ Screenwriting from SUNY Purchase.
