New York is the birthplace of hip-hop, and through that the style has taken on many forms in all areas of entertainment. It’s inclusion of self-expression, the blending of poetry, rhymes, and rhythmic flow can be seen all throughout history, and has seen a rise in presence of theatre through shows such as Bring in ‘da Noise, Bring in ‘da Funk, The Wiz, and the most iconic hip-hop musical, Hamilton. Join us at 54 Below for Broadway’s Got Bars, as we perform some of the most iconic hip-hop songs from your favorite shows, along with some other classics performed in a fresh and innovative way. Be prepared to hear music from musicals such as Hamilton, In the Heights, and Bring It On, and much much more! Produced by Malaikia Sims-Winfrey, come with your dancing shoes and prepare to dance the night away.
