Ben Jones is a singer, actor, comedian, and storyteller whose leading-man baritenor has carried him from the Edinburgh International Festival to the Shanghai Concert Hall. He won the Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Award for Best Performance in a Musical as Sid Sorokin in The Pajama Game, a turn one critic praised for his “terrific voice and stage-commanding manner.” Jones also earned Critics Circle nominations as Billy in Thoroughly Modern Millie and Gaylord Ravenal in Show Boat. Other favorite regional leading roles have included Sky Masterson in Guys and Dolls, Buddy in Follies, and Captain Walker in Tommy.

In New York, Jones has appeared Off-Broadway with The York Theatre in Twist of Fate and Brooklyn’s Bridge, and at special events for Red Bull Theater. Jones made his Carnegie Hall debut in 2021 as part of the Voices of Hope festival. His versatile voice has been featured on recordings for the Albany, Naxos, and Delos labels, on A Prairie Home Companion, on the soundtracks for the best-selling video game franchises Halo and Civilization, and on national commercials for Coors Light and Meow Mix. He has shared the stage with Rita Moreno, Michael Tilson Thomas, Frederica von Stade, Nathan Gunn, Isabel Leonard, and the Bang on a Can All-Stars. It was Michael Tilson Thomas who said, “We’re still trying to figure out what it is that Ben can’t do.”

Ben’s recent work includes a jazz duo with Grammy-winning pianist Laurence Hobgood, whose debut album, recorded live at Skywalker Sound and released in 2025, was hailed by UK Jazz News as “a spellbinding partnership that redefines the art of the voice-piano duo.” A familiar presence at 54 Below, where he won a BroadwayWorld Cabaret Award for his work during the pandemic, Jones can be heard regularly in 54 Sings Broadway’s Greatest Hits and Frank Sinatra: The Concert. He lives in New York and performs worldwide.
